Silly New Hunter's Question - Taming the beast

I am a level 10 hunter and I have succesfully tamed the beasts in the initial quests and gotten the training skill in Iron Forge. What I don't know how to do now is tame new beasts? I dont see anything to tame with, no rod, no skill or spell. Can someone please point out my obvious errors? Thanks!

You should have a skill/spell called 'Tame Beast', but I'm not sure which NPC should have given it to you.

It's been awhile since I played my hunter, so I'm a bit rusty. (Plus I'm mainly horde).

It is a skill under your Beast Mastery tab in your spellbook, the icon looks like the following:

a reminder on this is

you cant tame a new pet if you have one active.

you will either have to let it go when it gets upset / or send it away
or if you like it
go to a town and store it in one of the stables normally near an inn
