A little addition to his post above. Valor is obtained from instances, it all drops in Scholomance (WPL), Stratholme (EPL), and Lower Blackrock Spire, as well as the Shoulders-Breastplate in Uppler Blackrock Spire. This is your Tier 0 Dungeon Set. It really has no good special attributes other than stats. You can obtain a quest in Ironforge (Throne room) to turn these into the Heroism set (Tier 0.5). This is very expensive, ends up costing about 300 gold all together and in my opinion better non-set Items are available pre-raid. After this you can focus on ZulGurub, and thru reputation and drops you can get the Zandalar Vindicators Bracers, Belt and Breastplate. This is decent tanking-DPS gear, but still isnt that great. Chromaggus also spoke of might and wrath. Might is the 8 piece tanking set that drops in Molten Core, the first 40-man raid, this set is also known as Raid Set Tier 1. Wrath, or Raid Tier 2, is obtained mostly from Blackwing Lair, but the legs come from Molten core, and the Helmet from Onyxia (single boss 40-man raid). After Wrath is the first 5 piece set, Conquerers Battlegear, Raid Tier 2.5. This is obtained in AhnQuiraj, the 40 man Temple. After 2.5 is the Dreadnaughts Battlegear, Tier 3, obtained in Necropolis Naxxramas, 40 man raid in EPL. All of this gear is great for a level 60 warrior in level 60 raids.

Since the Burning Crusade was released, most of this gear is damn near obsolete, so we must get something else. The first of this would be Dungeon Set 3, Tier 3.5, Battlegear of the Bold. This, like Valor drops in many different 5 man lvl 70 instances. The Arcatraz, the Shadow Labyrinth, Steamvaults, Botanica, Mechanar. There is also Tier 4 (I forget the name of it sorry). The first piece drops off the last boss in Karazhan. The remaining pieces drop in Gruuls Lair (25 man) and Magtheridons Lair (25 man). The interesting thing about Tier 4 and 5 is the fact that with the drop, you can choose between a tanking set and a DPS set, for the first time ever in the game, it seems like Blizzard is trying to level the playing field and give players more options on how to deck out their class. They now have options for Paladins and Druids to tank, and give warriors more stats to DPS in a raid setting, instead of being stuck tanking every time.
