Im a lvl50 Hunter and used to do Skinning and Leatherworking but decided it was useless for me and i wanted to do Engineering. Anyway im about to hit the branch point and dont know what to do.

Im leaning towards Gnomish for the Death-Ray but dont really know what else is available from the Goblin side. Any feed back would be appreciated.

goblin rocket helm.
Has a clickable effect of the warrior intercept + 30sec sap , also stuns you for like 5 sec or so. 30 min cooldown. Sounds craptastic but it so rocks for the unexpected OH hi heres a nice backstab for you pvp'n. they can also make goblin jumpercables XL. Same thing as the regular ones but a greater chance, much greater.

Sounds pretty cool. So only goblin can make the XL Cables?

Yees only goblin

I'm not sure if the various goblin / vs gnomish items require Goblin engineering XXX to be weilded. So you could mabey have a gnomish friend build you that death ray and hand it over, unless of course the items are BOP. Anyone know about this?

Hi there!

I have a gnomish engineer (253). The items that are made are pretty nice for single pvp. My classic pvp opener is that gnomish net which mostly captures the enemy for 10 sec (good vs. melee chars). After that i use the death ray and hope for a crit. The minimum damage ist about 800 and my best crit was about 2400. After that i finish the foolish opponent in shamy-style!

AFAIK that death ray is not BOP. So it can be made for another engineer. Didn't try it yet! Made my DR one week ago.

One prob with most of the gnomish items is that they can backfire on you. For example: the net can capture you instead of the enemy or the shrink ray shrinkens you and your party. The chances are about 10%. The death ray makes about 250 points of damage to yourself each time you use it. But getting 250 damage and making more than 800 damage is okay for me! :)
