Lithium: You can ally with either the Aldor or the Scryers. The Aldor are a group of Draenei working with the Naaru to battle the Burning Legion. The Scryers are a group of Blood Elves that broke away from Prince Kael'thas, and offered to assist the Naaru at Shattrath. While both factions strive for a common goal, they find themselves at odds with each other for control of the city, and the Naaru's favor. Alliance players start out Friendly (0/6000) with the Aldor and Unfriendly (0/3000) with the Scryers, while Horde players will start out Friendly with the Scryers, and Neutral with the Aldor. Note that doing quests for one faction will simultaneously lower your reputation with the opposing faction. Both Horde and Alliance players start as Neutral(0/3000) with The Sha'tar, the faction of Naaru which rule the City.

Each Faction controls a section of the city, accessible through lifts from the center city. [1] The two sections are fully functional cities, with an innkeeper, general and trade goods vendor, and a bank. The flight point for the city is in a neutral section of the city. There will not be an Auction House. [2]

The Aldor Control the Blue Zone of Aldor Rise.

The Scryers Control the Red Zone of Scryer's Tier.

The Sha'tar is centered at the Terrace of Light. Thier Ruler is A'dal.

Shattrath is a city of portals. There are also portals to each of the 8 major hub cities in Azeroth – Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar, Undercity, Silvermoon City, Stormwind, Ironforge, The Exodar and Darnassus. [3] Portals linking all cities was also mentioned in this article. [4]

Mages are also be able to obtain a self port spell to Shattrath as well as a group portal to the hub city of the expansion. [5] There is a portal trainer in the middle of the city, affiliated with the Sha'tar faction. But it still ports you to the Scryers territory.

Aldor has Grand Master Jewelcrafter and Grand Master Alchemist. Scryers has Grand Master Skinner and Grand Master Leatherworker.

Archmage Khadgar also resides in the city helping the Naaru fight the Burning Legion.
